Actually, Anthony has already signed a letter of intent to join the Harlem Glob-trotters, immediately following his graduation from Georgetown. His 'typing' career will be put on hold for a few years.

Shh Sam! Don't put my business out there!

Thanks for your input, cheer supporter, but my column and my post were more geared towards giving a voice to the fans (many many of whom have complained to me about the untimeliness of the cheerleading routine) than needlessly bashing the cheerleaders. It is my opinion that the fans (read student section) at a home basketball game are more important than the cheerleaders—perhaps others don't share that view but I daresay it is a pretty common one.

"Perhaps you were turned down for a date and/or tried to be a cheerleader and didn’t make it."

Actually, both of those things happened to Tony, within the span of minutes too.

It is very easy to sit on the sidelines and complain. Perhaps you were turned down for a date and/or tried to be a cheerleader and didn't make it. This group works very hard inspite of technical difficulties (in the case of the last game, the sound system and the opposing teams occupation of the paint during timeouts). What do you do besides write drivel. Can you flip or support a teammate? Can you even dance by yourself let alone with a group? Get over yourself. The cheerleaders have greatly improved over the past 4 years. Every one of this team graduates and most go on to graduate programs. What are you planning to do beside type?
