Ok Go, the power-pop/punk band best known for its crazy dancing and wild music videos, threw a benefit concert at the 9:30 club Saturday night along with New Orleans-based brass band Bonerama. The two bands are also releasing a five-song EP on iTunes on Mardi Gras Tuesday entitled You’re not Alone, the proceeds from which will go towards building a Habitat for Humanity home for Al “Carnival Time” Johnson. The bands kept the sold-out crowd at the 9:30 entertained throughout the evening, Bonerama with the raucous energy of its 4-person trombone section, Ok Go with a tight set of catchy tunes and jackets with flashing LED lights. (For the encore, the quartet arrived on the dark stage, faced away from the audience, with their jackets lit up to read “OK GO”. The crowd loved it.)
