Watch out, IRS, Department of Education and Federal Reserve: Ron Paul is coming to town! From the Georgetown Republicans:

The Georgetown University 2008 Presidential Candidate Lecture Series*
Invites You to Remarks by Texas Congressman and Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul

Wednesday, February 13, 2008
8:00 p.m.
Gaston Hall

A session to follow the lecture

Please RSVP on a first-come, first-serve basis to lecturefund@georgetown.edu with your name and NetID.

For security reasons, please have available your Georgetown University GoCard or government-issued photo identification and avoid bringing any bags or backpacks to the venue.

Seat reservations are held until 15 minutes prior to event time. At that time, unfilled seats will be released to the waitlist line. A valid GoCard is required for waitlist admittance.

And so Paul’s campaign soldiers on, sort of.  Knowing how wild his supporters are, I’d RSVP for this one in a hurry.

… at least according to how many members each ticket has in their Facebook group. As of about 8 o’clock, when this post was written, the totals were:

Pat and James: 221
DW and Andrew: 183
Dietz and Stone: 154
Kyle and Brian: 147
Hayes and Madorsky: 126
Brown and Sevin: 102
Anna and Schuyler: 58
Karwacki and Farrar: 26

Big up to Pat and James, but there’s more to running for GUSA than getting all your friends to join a Facebook group. With that in mind, I hope these superlatives will tide you over until the Voice Editorial Board comes out with its official endorsement on Thursday.

Best non-all male ticket: Anna and Schuyler. That was kind of a no-brainer.

Best ticket using the logo of a clothing line: Hayes and Madorsky. H&M? Really? I know that their clothing is affordable and generally well-made, but your logo is going to make people want to go shopping, not vote for you.

Best platform: Karwacki and Farrar. Also a no-brainer. A few choice samples:

Kick Ass / Take Names

Stick it to the Man, Fuck the Police, AND Hate on Whitey

Be your wingman

Best relations with the Grab & Go lady: Brown and Sevin. At least, according to the picture in their Facebook group. I think that’s the first time I’ve ever seen her smile, not counting the times when she catches you trying to take two drinks.

Best ticket without a Facebook group: Angert and Kluger. Maybe the class of 2011 hasn’t discovered that function of Facebook yet?

Best ticket counting on JT’s sexiness: DW and Andrew. Hey, it worked for Ben and Matt.  (I watched their “Saxaback” video last night, but it has since been removed from YouTube—maybe it was too saxy?.  I’ll update with the link if it’s reposted.)
