Mark Zuckerberg, the socially-stunted Facebook king, has been nursing a massive site redesign for 6 months. Depending on who you read, it’s gone live now or will in a matter of hours or days.

You’re supposed to be able to go here to see the new Facebook, but it isn’t working for me or anyone I know. Until that link does start working, what to expect from the redesign:

  • New Menu Bar
  • Mini-Feed and Wall are now under the wall tab
  • A new “Bio” box
  • Complete rearrangement of tabs for your wall, info, photos, and apps
  • Facebook Apps are now found in the “Boxes” tab
  • Users can add extra tabs

There’s also some boring-sounding webcam integration going on. Besides that, though, this sounds pretty snazzy to me, especially the tabs and the removal of application clutter. If Firefox taught us anything, it’s that tabs always make life better.

  1. Try logging out and then going to new.facebook.com. Worked for me. Though I’m not a fan of the redesign – too much white.

  2. Still not working for me. Maybe I’m being forced to stay in the past while everyone else enjoys their new Facebook/Friendfeed colossus.
