Have you considered an AR-15 rifle?

Do you think Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois had high crime rates immediately before the shootings? These aren’t weapons you use on party patrol; you use them to stop a massacre. You’re a muckraker not a reporter.
I don’t know about crime rates at those schools, but I know that kind of firepower should be trusted to city police departments, the people actually trained to use the guns. If you want to go use Virginia Tech as an argument, you’re better off talking about conceal-carry on campus, not fighting for semi-automatic rifles for campus police.
Also, I don’t think you know that muckraker has a positive connotation.

You’re right…I used muckraker wrong. That was stupid of me. Score one for you. On the other hand, many University police departments are full fledged departments, with the same training and expertise as a city department.
Johnson, I’ve been told to get a life since I started blogging two years ago. I’m clearly too stubborn/lazy to take that advice, unfortunately.
Score one for you, Stephen Thompson. I’m sure some large universities have PDs trained for this kind of equipment, but besides wildly unlikely scenarios like V. Tech, why should the police have these?
