Nada Surf

Nada Surf

Friday

Look out for indie favorites Nada Surf at the 9:30 Club tonight.  Best known for the song “Popular,” the band is touring to support a new album, “Lucky.”  Jealous Girlfriends and the delightful Delta Spirit are opening.  Doors open at 8:00.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

Saturday

Hailing from Vermont, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will be at the 9:30 Club for a late show Saturday.  The New York Times described Potter’s vocals as “high [with a] fervent folk-rock delivery that suggests a grittier Patty Griffin.”  D.C.’s own Justin Jones is opening.

Clare and the Reasons

Thursday

Although it’s hard for me to picture violins and a cello at the Rock and Roll Hotel, Clare and the Reasons will be appearing there on Thursday at 8:30.  Check out the band’s website where you can hear the charming track “Obama Over the Rainbow.”  Also, be sure to visit this venue with a friend as there may be some interesting characters on the bus ride home.
