This article starts off with a deceiving sentence:

“As one its many philanthropy initiatives, the Corp annually doles out Reimagine Georgetown grants to programs that “seek to improve our undergraduate experience at Georgetown in creative ways.” In recent years, grants—which are co-sponsored by GUASFCU and The Hoya…”

The Corp does not “deal out” RIG grants and is only one of the three sponsors. All three contribute the same amount in funding for the grant, and The Corp is not responsible for it.

Something to point out is that Ryan Zambon is from the Board of Directors of The Hoya and has no relation to The Corp. It’s not accurate to portray Re-Imagine Georgetown as a thing of The Corp, even though they do contribute.

Thanks Chelsea, I was definitely planning on working with WGTB.
I agree that the Girl Talk show was awesome, a perfect example of what I am trying to do.

Daniel: work with WGTB! Though I’m a biased source (I used to be the GM), we do have the distinction of putting on several low-cost shows in the past few years (budget will be a major issue with $5,000) and put on one of the most successful shows to date when we brought Girl Talk to Bulldog Alley in 2008. The staff is great and they really know what they’re doing when it comes to sound and putting on shows.

Doesn’t Michael Trummel (COL ‘10) date the chair of The Hoya? Doesn’t The Hoya have a seat on the decisions committee? I could invite a couple of students from GDubs, Catholic, American, Gallaudet, Howard, George Mason, and UMD to my townhouse to have a few beers and talk about our campuses fo’ free. Just saying …
