Free Food-for-All: ‘Tis the season

Chanukah comes to Georgetown

With the holiday season in full swing, get ready for singing, good food, presents, and dreidels.

Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the foyer of Healy Hall, the Jewish Chaplaincy will host a celebration to mark the beginning of Chanukah. Chutzpah, a Jewish a capella group, will provide the musical score for the evening. Refreshments will be provided, so no need to fret if the festivities pique your appetite.

Religious harmony over food

Didn’t quite get your fill of Judaism? Still feeling a little peckish?

Follow up your stop in Healy with a visit to the Bioethics Research Library in Healy 102 at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Father David-Maria Jaeger will speak about the evolution of the Catholic-Jewish dialogue. Be sure to stick around for the Hanukkah reception afterward, complete with latkes, applesauce, and jelly donuts!

A tree, Tiny Tim, and treats

If the holiday festivities haven’t worn you out by the end of the week, and your tummy starts to rumble again, then prepare yourself for a Christmas extravaganza!

On Friday at 5 p.m. in Dahlgren Quadrangle, John DeGioia will host the annual Christmas tree lighting, followed by Mask and Bauble’s production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at 6 p.m. Bundle up and head over for the promised hot cocoa and snacks, and more than enough Christmas cheer.
