U Hall 1 Year Anniversary

U Hall has quickly filled a niche in Washington as the go-to nightclub for dance music. This Thursday, U Hall will be hosting djs Jesse Rose, Justin Martin, and Nadastrom to celebrate their birthday. The venue has gained a reputation for bringing talented djs into DC and its no-tolerance policy for difficult people. U Hall’s success was the subject the Voice‘s feature section this past December.

DeVotchKa w/Mariachi El Bronx

DeVotchKa is a rock band from Denver, CO. They music includes string instruments and accordion and often sounds like they’re playing on or through stacks of printer paper. They have toured with model Dita Von Teese and are now touring on their new album 100 Lovers.

Sunday, March 20, Rock N Roll Hotel ($12), 8 p.m. doors

Salem sounds like a shoegaze hip-hop mixtape: static drums and gothic undertones.
