Vox Pupuli: The triumphant return
Posted by: Leigh Finnegan in Leisure, Vox Populi, tags: Vox PupuliIt’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. We know it was a long, puppy-less summer at Vox, for which I take full blame—I went home, and just couldn’t justify posting pictures of dogs from suburban New York on a Georgetown blog. But this week, Pupuli is back with a vengeance. Without further ado, here’s this week’s Top Dog:
We found this Italian Greyhound hanging with her owner on Prospect Street across from Village A. And although she’s under a year old, being that breed she’ll stay around that adorable, toy size for her whole life. And, I probably don’t have to say it, but look at those ears!
And remember, Pupuli needs you! If you see a Vox-worthy pooch walking around campus, be sure to snap a picture and send it to blog@georgetownvoice.com.

Why? Who thought it was a good idea to waste our time posting pictures of dogs? Seriously guys?
“It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for.” – Raise your hand if you’ve been waiting……Anyone?
“We know it was a long, puppy-less summer at Vox, for which I take full blame” – Honestly, I completely forgot about this completely pointless series.
“I went home, and just couldn’t justify posting pictures of dogs from suburban New York on a Georgetown blog.” – But you can justify posting pictures of dogs from Georgetown on a Georgetown blog?
“But this week, Pupuli is back with a vengeance.” – Oh God, no. Not with a vengeance!
I’m trying to imagine the discussion among Vox writers/editors when the idea of this series was born: “So guys, I have this, like, awesome idea. What if, every week, we go around with a camera and, like, take pictures of dogs. Then – wait for it – we’ll post the pictures on Vox and, like, talk about how adorable they are!
Editor’s expected response: “Get out.”
Slowly but surely, Vox is turning into the College Prepster: http://www.thecollegeprepster.com
God help us all.
think you may have wasted more time commenting on each sentence than you would have had you just not bothered to read the post.
BUT WHO AM I TO KNOW
No, I agree it’s a waste. We should be focusing on JOBS.
If Vox never does this again, I’d say it’s time well spent.
Waste of time? How much time does it take you to look at a puppy? I mean it takes me a while because I love puppies and just want to look at them, but most definitely not a waste of time. Anyone who hates on puppies must not have a soul. For realsies.
Pivot to dogs.
I think it is an adorable puppy. I may be slightly biased due to the fact that I have an equally cute IG at home that is almost 8 years old. It is something fun for the blog. How is this bad?
the puppy is a boy
Reading the argument about the value of this feature is like watching one of the Vox Pupuli chase its tail: entirely adorable.
I simply can’t comprehend why anyone would think this was a worthwhile feature to include. And even if I could, why post a picture of a dog that looks sickly and malnourished?
I feel bad for Why?; clearly s/he’s had a horrible accident and had to have his/her heart and soul removed.
