At approximately 8:20 p.m. last night, a Georgetown graduate student was robbed on 41st Street between Calvert and Davis Streets in Glover Park, according to a Department of Public Safety alert. While the student was walking home on 41st Street, two males emerged from a black sedan, which then drove off. One of them, who was armed with a handgun, shoved the student to the ground and took his bag, which contained a laptop and school books. He then stole the student’s cell phone and demanded his wallet.
Having stolen the student’s laptop, cell phone and wallet, the two suspects ordered him to walk away without looking back. As the student did so, the two suspects fled in an unknown direction. The student called MPD, who responded to investigate the incident, when he arrived at his residence. This morning, he reported the incident to DPS headquarters.
The public safety alert describes the two suspects as African American males.
DPS requests that anyone who has information regarding this incident or who noticed any suspects before or after the incident, to contact them immediately at (202) 687-4343.
