According to the Department of Public Safety, a University employee’s purse was stolen in St. Mary’s Hall yesterday afternoon. At approximately 4:00 p.m., the employee left her office for roughly fifteen minutes. When she returned, she discovered that her purse, including her wallet, credit cards, and cash, had been stolen. The thief or thieves entered through the front door of the office, and there was no sign of forced entry, according to the public safety alert. MPD responded to the scene, and is in charge of the investigation.

There are no known suspects, but DPS did say that one of the employee’s credit cards was fraudulently used at various stores.
