My roommate is a member of this cult. I went to her church and knowing a few things about cults such as Jonestown and Heaven’s Gate, I saw a few weird things and then researched her organization. What do I do to avoid going to any of her church stuff ever again? should I tell her its a cult?

I read the article years ago and it helped me to relate and not feel crazy. I was involved in this abusive organization for over 20 years and worked for the very same people she did. It is so difficult to move on without therapy and support. The organization is subtle, systematic and deceptive especially to a vunerable individual. They practice mind control and deny it, they think they are reformed and will even admit to past harmful practices but they are still harmful and aren’t as forthright about their beliefs, they mask it perhaps even more now which may make them even more dangerous.
