America kicks of the month of June with National Doughnut Day. The day was created by The Salvation Army in 1938 to celebrate women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.
Get excited, because this means free food for all:
At Dunkin’ Donuts, you can get a free doughnut, but only if you purchase a beverage. Lame. Closest location near Georgetown: Foggy Bottom, 616 23rd Street Northwest
Krispy Kreme, on the other hand, is offering free, adult, uncensored doughnuts with no questions asked. Closest location: Dupont Circle, 1350 Connecticut Ave NW
Things you can do with doughnuts: Sure, you can just eat a doughnut whole, or you could get a little creative. Cut it in half and put a cheeseburger in the middle (see photograph). Dip a doughnut in your coffee. Get a free doughnut and give it to your boss. Nah, don’t do that one. Unless you’re expecting a raise.

Outlaw sugary drinks. Donut burgers… sounds godo to me.
