CHARMS is just another way for people to segregate themselves. If Georgetown really wants people to learn from each other through roommates, as Nick Shaker so strongly argued for in his letter regarding the LGBT check box, then it would all be random.

I did it randomly and lived with an awesome guy who was totally different from me.

My advice would be to make sure to contact as many people as possible. Because if you forget when you’re looking at all your great choices that those choices are also looking at choices. You can be getting along great with someone and they’ll just suddenly disappear because they chose someone else! That’d be my other advice, if someone seems like a good match, /stop shopping/. SNAP THEM UP.

And even if you end up with some crazy like my freshman roommate, you’ll have a great story to tell. Believe me, my passive aggressive antics still make people laugh.
