Last weekend, Uno Chicago Grill’s Georgetown location at 3211 M Street NW permanently closed. A sign outside the door encourages customers to get their Uno fix at Union Station, the next closest location.
The Georgetown branch of Uno was a franchise location. According to Vice President of Franchising Fred Houston, the business was sold because the owner was no longer interested in keeping a business in Georgetown. Houston said she owned the business for almost 30 years and was “looking forward to getting out of the business” to move on to other pursuits.
In the past year, Uno locations saw an increase in sales across the board, and Houston said business was normal for the location on M Street. “Georgetown was seeing the same thing,” Houston said in relation to the company-wide sales increase. “Sales were up for the year.”
