Drink the Kool-Aid: Come to the Voice‘s open house Friday

Voice open houseTomorrow, the Voice will hold its semesterly open house to meet Georgetown’s aspiring writers, editors, photographers, illustrators, graphic designers, and (most importantly) bloggers. Roll into Leavey 424 after 6:00 p.m., meet our team of editors, and eat some free pizza courtesy of CSP.

We’re always looking for new staffers for both the print edition and Vox. No experience is required—we train our recruits before we let them go crazy with recorders and cameras.

Whether the Voice is examining Georgetown life in long form, breaking campus news, or covering neighborhood news, there’s always something to do.

But the paper covers much more than news: New recruits can write for Leisure, Sports, Voices, or the editorial page.

If you can’t make it to this Friday or next, you can always email the editor of the section you’re interested in.

Vox is also looking for a social media editor. Interested students should email Vox directly.

The Voice has produced some fine journalists and bloggers, as well as many more in career fields that aren’t literally disappearing.

Decide for yourself whether the Voice is too hipster to function or just surprisingly leftist. In all seriousness, though, the paper includes students of all styles and political persuasions. Stop by, and experience the magic of putting words on a page.

Thanks for the pizza, CSP.
