According to DPS’s daily crime log, there were 28 violent and property crimes in April, 2013, not including a sexual assault from July 2010 that was reported to DPS this April.

Reported crimes ran the gamut, from four public urinations to the assault of a police officer who was trying to stop a thief in Lau. Most notably, Dahlgren Chapel was vandalized one night. The vandals damaged furniture and knocked Jesus’ hand off a crucifix. There are no known suspects.

July 26, 2010

10:00 p.m., Copley—Sexual Assault: A student reported that they were the victim of sexual assault at the listed location in the summer of 2010. MPD was contacted and is handling the investigation.

April 1, 2013

5:30 p.m., Village C West—Burglary: A student reported that an unknown person entered his room and stole his wallet. MPD responded and is handling the investigation.

April 5, 2013

9:00 p.m., Healy Hall—Theft: A staff member reported the theft of a banner from the exterior of the listed building. Case pending investigation.

5:00 p.m., Village A—Burglary: A student reported that an unknown person entered her residence and stole her laptop. MPD responded and is handling the investigation.

April 11, 2013

10:00 a.m., Med-Dent Building—Burglary: An affiliate reported that an unknown person entered her office and stole a cell phone. Case pending investigation.

7:30 p.m., Lauinger Library—Theft/Assaulting a Police Officer: A non-affiliate who stole an unattended laptop from the listed location assaulted an officer during his escape as officers attempted to detain him. Property was recovered. A warrant will be sought for the suspect’s arrest.

April 12, 2013

1:30 a.m., LXR—Disorderly Conduct: Officers made contact with a student who was observed jumping onto a vehicle in front of the listed location. Referred to student conduct.

11:57 a.m., Copley— Harassment: A student reported that her roommate was harassing her via text messaging. Referred to student conduct.

April 13, 2013

12:30 a.m., 1226 36th Street (The Tombs)—Sexual Assault: A student reported that they were the victim of a sexual assault at the isted location. MPD was contacted and is handling the investigation.

April 14, 2013

9:15 a.m., Dahlgren Chapel—Destruction of Property (Hate Crime): A staff member reported the damage and vandalism of property in the listed location. MPD responded and is handling the investigation.

April 15, 2013

9:23 a.m., Southwest Quad Parking Garage—Theft: A staff member reported the theft of university property from university owned vehicles. MPD responded and is handling the investigation.

April 18, 2013

4:00 p.m., Building D—Burglary: A staff member reported that her unsecured office had been burglarized. MPD responded and is handling the investigation.

6:35 p.m., Reynolds Hall—Drug Violation: Officers responding to call made contact with students who were found in possession of drug paraphernalia. Referred to student conduct.

April 19, 2013

2:00 p.m., Building D—Burglary: A staff member reported that her unsecured office had been burglarized. MPD responded and is handling the investigation.

3:45 p.m., ICC—Theft: A student reported the theft of a coat from an office common area in the listed location. Case pending investigation.

April 22, 2013

6:30 a.m., Village C West—Theft: A staff member reported the theft of a department issued jacket from the listed location. Case pending investigation.

9:00 a.m., New South—Theft: A student reported the theft of unattended property from a common area in the listed building. MPD responded and is handling the investigation.

April 24, 2013

8:59 a.m., LXR—Vandalism (Hate Crime): Graffiti was found on the exterior of the listed building. Case pending investigation.

April 25, 2013

8:45 a.m., St. Mary’s—Theft: A staff member reported the theft of a laptop from a secured cabinet in her office area. MPD responded and is handling the investigation.

10:22 p.m., Leavey Esplanade—Public Urination: A student was observed urinating in public at the listed location. Referred to student conduct.

10:27 p.m., Leavey Esplanade—Public Urination: A student was observed urinating in public at the listed location. Referred to student conduct.

11:21 p.m., Leavey Center—Assault on DC Fire and EMS: A student who was being treated due to illness assaulted  DC Fire & EMS personnel. Referred to student conduct.

11:44 p.m., Alumni Square Courtyard—Public Urination: A student was observed urinating in public at the listed location. Referred to student conduct.

April 27, 2013

12:00 p.m., LXR—Theft: A student reported the theft of a bike from the railing outside of the listed location. Case pending investigation.

11:30 p.m., Village A—Unlawful Entry: An affiliate was arrested for unlawful entry. Case closed with arrest.

April 28, 2013

12:38 a.m., Village A—Public Urination: A student was observed urinating in public outside of the listed location. Referred to student conduct.

6:36 p.m., Harbin Hall—Unlawful Entry: An affiliate was barred from campus for unlawful entry. Case closed with barring.

April 29, 2013

3:25 a.m., ICC—Unlawful Entry: A non-affiliate was barred from campus for unlawful entry. Case closed with barring.

April 29, 2013

4:20 a.m., Med-Dent Building—Theft: A staff member reported the theft of an EZ GO cart from outside of the listed location. Case closed, no leads.
