Remix Your Weekend: It’s a good weekend for festivals
The Shaw Flea Market Opens: The organizers of the Brooklyn Flea market are bringing their expertise to the D.C. area. Opening Saturday in the lot next to 9:30 Club, the market will feature about 70-80 vendors selling antique furniture and vintage clothing.
Dulles Day Festival: Enjoy screaming kids, carnival food, and trying to pull an airbus? Well you’ll get the chance if you head to the Dulles Day festival. Teams of 25 people can compete to drag a 164,000 pound airbus 12 feet, which, to Vox, sounds better than going to Yates. The festival will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dulles airport on Saturday.
17th Street Festival: If you’re still in the mood for another festival after Dulles Day, the fourth annual 17th Street festival will feature 30 artists. This festival will be just east of DuPont (you can guess which street that will be on), and it starts at 12 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m.
Ethiopian Festival: Celebrate the Ethiopian New Year this Sunday in Silver Spring from noon to 9 p.m. Vox might just have to stop by and grab some food, which if you haven’t tasted before Vox highly recommends.
