Remix Your Weekend Finals Edition: Treat Yo Self
Breaking the Bubble
ZooLights at the National Zoo: Every night until January 1, the National Zoo will be putting on a holiday lights display from 5 until 9 p.m. General admission is free, but for $3 extra you can take a ride down two 150′ long “snowtubing” tracks. Plus, there is no better way to instill Christmas cheer than sipping hot chocolate with cuddly panda cubs.
Downtown Holiday Market: For those of you on the hunt for unique holiday gifts (or for some shameless self-indulgence), the Downtown Holiday Market is now celebrating its ninth year featuring over 150 local artisans, crafters, and boutique businesses. It will run continously through Monday, December 23 from noon until 8 pm each day. It is located on the F Street sidewalk in front of the Smithsonian American Art Museum & National Portrait Gallery between 7th & 9th Streets, NW.
National Christmas Tree: Come see the National Christmas tree decked out in lights right by the White House. The seasonal display includes a Yule log, a large-scale model train, and a Christmas manger. Musical performances by volunteer choirs, bands and dancers, are generally held nightly from 1-8:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Sprinkles Cupcakes: Treat yo self to something sweet this weekend at Sprinkles Cupcakes by trying out some festive seasonal flavors like chocolate peppermint, vanilla peppermint, or eggnog spice. It is located right in the Georgetown neighborhood on 3015 M Street and is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
