Georgetown Community Partnership publishes data on off-campus complaints
The Georgetown Community Partnership has released a chart of data from the Office of Neighborhood Life that analyzes the complaints received by the university regarding off-campus housing for the Fall 2013 Semester. The GCP is a group comprised of representatives of GU and non-university related community members of the West Georgetown, Burleith, and Foxhall neighborhoods.
The Office of Neighborhood Life received 305 contacts last semester from the neighborhoods. Seventy-three percent of these contacts were due to noise complaints.
Of the 305 contacts, there were 72 incidents for noise on Georgetown-affiliated off campus sites. Of the 72 noise-related incidents, 51 incidents were reported to the Office of Student Conduct where at least one student was held responsible.
Georgetown’s neighborhood helpline was the most used by the neighborhood to contact the university with 60 percent of complaints. Next was SNAP police with just over a quarter of complaints.
Of the 427 off-campus GU affiliated properties, less than 10% received a violation.
