Healey Family Student Center opens with chorus of Facebook users pretending to study

The Healey Family Student Center opened last Friday and it is fresh. This is the final nail in the coffin for the Leavey Center. The study spaces and overall setting in there puts Sellinger Lounge to shame. The high ceilings and green plants, as well as the nice view across the river, make the main room of Healey lovely.

Within two hours of the opening, there were already students “studying” in the private rooms. And that was on Friday afternoon. Guys, it was the second week of class. Calm down and browse Facebook somewhere less public.

The Corp’s newest service, Hilltoss, and the newly-named pub Bulldog Tavern are still under construction, but are expected to be completed during this semester, hopefully by Thanksgiving.

TheĀ Voice had special early access to the Center and took a lot of photos while construction was still putting the finishing touches on the building. Enjoy, but be sure to check it out in person.
