Campus Crime Watch: Drinking booze on the street in September
Georgetown suffered 43 violent and property crimes this past September, according to GUPD’s daily crime log.
As usual, a lot of unattended items, especially bikes, were swiped up by criminals.
What’s most noteworthy about this September is the unusually high number of instances in which students were caught with alcohol in public. The craze of syllabus week and the insanity that is September in general got to some students’ heads, and they thought it was a good idea to walk around Lau and the townhouses taking Burnett’s handle pulls and sipping on Natty.
There were seven different instances of students getting caught with booze in public.
Put that stuff away and be discreet when you’re in public. The jury is back. It turns out that GUPD will write you up for drinking in front of the library, even if it is 2:00 a.m. on Saturday.
