I agree with Andy's comments. I am from Maine and I love the products that come from my state because they are delicious. The shrimp from our cold waters, the blueberries from our fields, the clams from our mud flats, fiddleheads off the shore of our rivers and ponds. I didn't find ANY of these at the Tackle Box. Hush Puppies? wtf? Yeah, maybe on our feet as kids. Sauteed greens? nope. Unless they are Fiddleheads doused with butter and vinegar. I'm trying NOT to be critical here. I loved the idea of this place. I was really excited to head down and brave the parking. Then I started asking where their products were from...gulf shrimp, littleneck clams?? Tilapia?? what the....??
boo, I can get all that stuff at any market in DC. How about actually doing a BIT of research as to where you can actually get Maine products!
The decor was on target, the buoys, the benches, but, you can't eat decorations.
I was craving a good cup of Cutler Clam Chowder, a nice Maine shrimp roll, some good, HOT hand-cut fries with sea salt,( NO OLD BAY SEASONING!!), some steamed fiddleheads with lots of butter and vinegar! and some old fashioned Maine blueberry pie(not blueberries from Chili!! yes, there is a difference). I ended up with fried Maryland Oysters, cold, overseasoned fries. cold macaroni/cheese. I felt like I was more in Ocean City then on the ocean up in Maine.
Will I go back?......yeah...I guess....I don't know, sitting on the red bench last Thursday made me homesick, homesick for Moody's Diner, or Red's Eat's, I guess it's the closest I'll get to Maine on a hot afternoon in DC.

As a long time Hoya fan I was happy when Macklin signed but once I saw him play I knew he wouldn't fit in the system. Now think about Macklin is not very skilled but very athletic and Florida is place where he can showcase that athleticism. He doesn't have a go to post move (well if you want to count that sky hook go ahead). He can't shoot, he doesn't finish strong around the basket, he can't shoot free throws, and he doesn't pass well.

Probably, Gilahi. But think how much joy Date Lab has brought to your marriage. The daters are just components in the overall presentation--Date Lab's for us!

I was so excited to try Tackle Box. I went last night and ordered (big splurge) the lobster roll. I was sooooo incredibly disappointed. Not worth the $19 price AT ALL. A very small serving of undercooked (translucent) lobster in a roll slathered with butter and a handful of fries. To make a bad thing worse, the homemade lemonade ($4 a pop) was definitely made from concentrate- the taste is obvious. Overpriced and undercooked. Don't bother.

Why does the Post even run Date Lab? Their success rate is abysmal at best, and in fact the best match we've ever read in there was picked by a monkey. My wife and I read it weekly just for the laughs when people are either downright rude about the dates or, better, when they try to be polite. "He/She is a really great person, but....". I think we can safely say at this point that we can conclude from this lab that a monkey is a better matchmaker than the editors at the Post magazine.

My experience was similar to Anna's, except i waited 5 HOURS for the right food to reach me. There was no denying that the food was wrong but the man on the phone practically yelled at me for asking them to fix it. "you're not our only customers! you'll get it in 40 min" "i don't know if you're in a bad mood or something but i'm just telling you the way things are" ok rudeness is really annoying but i can deal with it (even though i really shouldn't have to) however what i can't deal with is after waiting another hour and half having the owner admit to me that the food was never made and never sent. Again he sent out the food. Again we waited. finally 5 hours after original ordering time my boyfriend received his calzone...i still never got the chicken for my salad....

I just ran into a DPS officer for the 3rd or 4th time today on my floor (the third) of LXR, and while it's kind of annoying, I still think it's worth it to make sure all the doors are locked at least for the last few weeks of the year. Even if your laptop was stolen because your door was unlocked and you immediately took the blame for it, that's still another public safety email, another theft on Georgetown's record, and more press about how LXR has horrible security. Not that I really think that thieves/sexual assaulters are trolling campus websites to see where the weakest place they can strike at is, but it just can't be good if word keeps getting out about how easy it is to get in here and steal stuff. Of course there should be better security to stop intruders from getting in in the first place, but it doesn't just affect one person when there's a crime.
