At approximately 9:30 p.m. tonight, two Georgetown students were the victims of an armed robbery on N Street near 33rd Street in West Georgetown, according to a public safety alert. The two students were approached by two suspects, one of whom, a masked  5’6″ black male with a dark complexion and wearing dark clothing, pointed a handgun at the students and demanded money. The two suspects took the students’ wallets and cell phones from their pockets, then fled toward Wisconsin Avenue on foot.

The second suspect is described as a roughly 6’0″ black male wearing dark clothing.

The students, who were not injured, reported the armed robbery to the Department of Public Safety at 10:00 p.m. At that point, the Metropolitan Police Department responded to investigate. DPS requests that anyone who has information regarding this incident, or who noticed any suspects before or afterward, contact them immediately at (202) 687-4343.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. last night, a Georgetown graduate student was robbed on 41st Street between Calvert and Davis Streets in Glover Park, according to a Department of Public Safety alert. While the student was walking home on 41st Street, two males emerged from a black sedan, which then drove off. One of them, who was armed with a handgun, shoved the student to the ground and took his bag, which contained a laptop and school books. He then stole the student’s cell phone and demanded his wallet.

Having stolen the student’s laptop, cell phone and wallet, the two suspects ordered him to walk away without looking back. As the student did so, the two suspects fled in an unknown direction. The student called MPD, who responded to investigate the incident, when he arrived at his residence. This morning, he reported the incident to DPS headquarters.

The public safety alert describes the two suspects as African American males.

Last night at approximately 9:10 p.m., a Georgetown student was robbed by two men, one of whom displayed a knife, on the 1800 block of 38th Street NW in Burleith, between S and T Streets. According to a public safety alert, the two suspects emerged from bushes and approached the victim, one suspect grabbing him from behind while the other brandished a knife. The suspects took the victim’s wallet and fled the scene. MPD responded to the scene in vain.

One suspect is described in the Department of Public Safety alert as a 5’10” black male weighing 175 pounds, while the other suspect is an approximately 5’9” black male weighing 190-200 pounds and armed with a knife. Both suspects were wearing bandannas to cover their faces and dark clothing.

DPS is requesting that anyone who has information about this incident, or who noticed any suspects before or after the incident, to contact them immediately at (202) 687-4343.

Update: This afternoon’s MPD Watch Commander’s Crime Update provided the following description of the three suspects.

#1-Black/Male, 18-22 years of age, 5’10”-6’0”, 160-170 lbs. with a dark complexion and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and pants.

#2-Black/Male, 18-22 years of age, 6’4”, 150-160 lbs. with short black hair, a light complexion and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, grey pants and jacket.

#3-Black/Male, 18-24 years of age, 6’0”-6’1”, 160-170 lbs. with a medium complexion and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and pants.

Around 1:35 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, an S Street residence housing both Georgetown students and non-students was broken into and robbed, according to a Public Safety Alert sent out by the University on Saturday afternoon.

The alert reported that three suspects entered the house, at least one of whom was armed with a handgun, which he used to threaten the students. The group was apparently looking for a non-student who was not at home, and before leaving robbed the house of three laptops and various other electronic devices.

The case is being investigated by the Metro Police Department, but no suspects have been identified. Anyone with any information regarding this incident should contact the Department of Public Safety at (202) 687-4343.
