Free Food for All: Peace and sweets be with you

Valentine’s Day might be behind us, but with Mardi Gras less than a week away let the free food, like the good times, roll.

Bring a peaceful quality to your week with the Peace Jamming: Performance and Peace-building event, and don’t forget to chow down on the free dessert. Hosted by Peace Jam and the Program on Justice and Peace, the event will bring together the dulcet tones of acapella groups Harmony and SuperFood and the poetry of Rickey Bryant written during his thirty-year incarceration in order to better understand how to form a peaceful community. Be sure to head over to the ICC auditorium on today from 8 to 10:30 p.m. to listen to the performers and indulge your sweet tooth.

Keep the peace alive this Peace Education week by relaxing with a good movie and free food. Again hosted by Peace Jam and the Program on Justice and Peace, a screening of “To Sir With Love” starring Sidney Poitier will take place this Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m., so stop by ICC 108 to eat, drink, and be peaceful.

If your sweet tooth is still not satisfied, then look no further than the return of Chocolate Sample Day at Cocova in Dupont Circle. This Saturday, head over to the chocolate tasting room and sample their fourteen exotic chocolate bars from 3 to 6 p.m.

  3. @CM, I am just the treasurer. Not my duties, but a good idea nevertheless. I’ll pass that along to our president, thanks :)
