Dean Lancaster diagnosed with a brain tumor
In an email sent out this evening, President John DeGioia said that SFS Dean Carol Lancaster has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. She will be “away from campus in the coming weeks,” the email reads.
James Reardon-Anderson will serve as acting dean in the meantime, taking on the tasks and decisions Lancaster is normally responsible for.
“I ask that you join me in keeping Carol and her family in your thoughts and prayers at this time. We wish her speedy progress towards her recovery and very much look forward to her return to campus,” reads DeGioia’s email.
Chair of the SFS Faculty, Jeff Anderson, will be assisting Reardon-Anderson in faculty affairs.
Stacy Kerr, assistant vice president for communications, told Vox that this is all the University knows as of now.
Vox is awaiting further comment.
